Career Consultation
Beginning Your Career
Many students come to me looking for initial advice on how to begin their acting career in the city. Each student is different and therefore needs to discover their unique path in the world of theatre. I work with beginners to provide them with insight into resume and headshot preparation, marketing tools, the truth about finding an agent or manager, where and when to audition in the city and how to become a working actor.
I Graduated...Now What?
After graduating from a musical theatre or theatre program in an undergraduate or graduate setting, the acting world can be a daunting place. You may be a polished actor with great theatrical training, but you need some insight into how to continue your career in the city. I work with students to come up with a clear guideline on how to make the most of each day. I’ll work to help you find the best way to support yourself, make connections with agents and casting directors, understand the ins and outs of the unions and provide overall support for making your dreams come true.
Self Marketing
In order to be a successful working actor, you must first understand how to best market and present yourself. Many times, students need help deciding what “type” they are and where they fit into this industry. In this day and age, there are many tools an actor can use to help launch a career. I’ll work to make you the most marketable self you can be by providing insight into headshot and resume preparation, websites, the truth about mailings, how to land an agent, and how you can help your career each and every day.
